What Is Puppy Desensitization?
For puppies 6 months and younger, grooming can feel overwhelming at first.
These sessions are designed to slowly introduce each step of the process so your puppy learns that grooming is safe, predictable, and nothing to fear.
Stage One: The Bath
This is the introduction visit. The goal isn’t perfection — it’s exposure and comfort.

Table introduction & handling practice
This stage focuses on helping your puppy become familiar with the sounds, sensations, and handling involved in grooming.
Stage Two: The Trim
Ideal for young puppies who will require regular haircuts as they grow.
This session helps puppies become comfortable with clippers, scissors, and longer table time in preparation for future full grooms.
